Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga that makes use of props like belts, blocks and blankets to aid the student in achieving proper alignment. This enables beginner students, the elderly and those with physical limitations to perform the pose correctly, minimizing the risk of injury while allowing the student to gain optimal benefits from the yoga practice.
