Physiotherapy
As a primary caregiver, a physiotherapist can assess, diagnose, and treat your injury through a combination of methods that may include: manual therapy; manipulation; acupuncture; modalities such as ultrasound, IFC; and/or exercise prescription. Education plays an important role in physiotherapy. The goal of physiotherapy is to return you to your optimal function and strength, while educating you about your injury. This allows you to independently maintain a healthy body without the constant supervision of a therapist.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a comprehensive intervention involving a range of techniques to manipulate the soft tissues and joints of the body. The purpose of massage therapy is to prevent, develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function or relieve pain. It is a clinically-oriented health option that achieves undeniable results in the relief of an array of discomforts stemming from stress, muscular overuse and many chronic pain syndromes.
Our Massage Therapists are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario are actively involved in continued learning and have additional training in Sports, Deep Tissue, Lymphatic and Relaxation Massage. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.
Kinesiology
The practice of kinesiology is the assessment of human movement and performance and its rehabilitation and management to maintain, rehabilitate or enhance movement and performance. Kinesiologists are devoted to improving performance, health, and overall quality of life. Nearly every Ontarian can improve their performance, function and well-being with movement and exercise. Kinesiologists work with people of all ages and every level of function and physical ability to assess, track, manage and achieve a broad range of personal health goals.
Pilates
Pilates is a method of physical exercise designed to strengthen the core by developing pelvic stability and abdominal control. The body will redevelop its natural foundation, which is often hindered by poor posture and motor control issues resulting from modern day living, injury or illness. This concentration of work within the core (abdominals, lower back, and hip musculature) results in more fluid, efficient movements. Pilates requires true internal core strength and control through proper breathing and muscle activation to promote harmonized movement, improve posture, and create a balanced body. Pilates rehabilitation encompasses elements of mobility, strength and physical fitness. Our Stott Pilates instructor will work with you one on one to achieve these goals.
Concussion Therapy - Physiotherapy
A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury caused by disruption in neurological functioning following a significant impact to the head or elsewhere on the body. Symptoms may include loss of consciousness, headache, neck pain, nausea or vomiting, dizziness or balance problems. Our Concussion program is an advanced approach to concussion rehabilitation, guiding you safely back to full participation in activities such as daily living, family life or athletic activity. Concussion services include:

Vestibular Therapy
Physiotherapists can perform various maneuvers and tests to help accurately diagnose and treat different forms of vertigo and dizziness. Following an episode of vertigo, neuritis or a concussion, the vestibular system often needs re-training. Physiotherapy can help to restore function and movement using balance, oculomotor, vestibular integration and gait training exercises to re-train the nervous system. This can help restore the integration of the vestibular, proprioceptive and visual systems so that all messages going to the brain are synchronized, therefore helping the patient with their symptoms. The goal of your treatment plan is to improve any deficits that were identified. This, in turn, will improve your ability to function in activities of everyday living, reduce your risk of falling and ultimately, improve your quality of life.
